“I promise. You can’t protect him 24 hours a day, I’ll get to him no problem. He’s not big. We’ll make his life hell every day in school if you don’t piss your pants and get out of here.”

Peter and Richard looked at me. I don’t know where that flash of genius came from, but it’s working. The old man takes a step back.

”You sick bastard”, he says.
 
”If you lay a finger on Linus, I’ll...”

”You’ll what, turd?”

said Richard. Then Linus’ dad looks at me with bloody tiresome eyes and says:

”I feel sorry for you. You’ll be in prison before you’re eighteen. If you’re not already dead by then.”

”Why not both?”

I smile, even though I’m cold right there in the sunshine"
